PC Preventive Maintenance

I stumbled upon this quote somewhere,

"Take good care of your PC, and it will take good care of you."
Well it's a nice quote thinking that if your PC crash you will lose all your data and cost you a lot. So readers, do take care of your PC or laptop like your husband or wife cause if you're a loner(not me lol) your laptop or PC is be your bestfriend and when it crashed.. your bestfriend dies.

Thus, preventive maintenance are done. It is the act of regularly scheduled check up of the computer hardware or software to ensure it to operate properly and help your computer live longer. I have some ways here on how to do preventive maintenance that hopefully will help your bestfriend (that is your PC) to live longer with you.

1.Cleaning your computer hardware.

Once in a while clean up your hardware, If your PC resides in a relatively clean, climate-controlled environment, an annual cleaning should be sufficient. But in most real-world locations, such as dusty offices or shop floors, your system may need a cleaning every few months.

Your PC's mortal enemies are heat and moisture. Excess heat accelerates the deterioration of the delicate circuits in your system. The most common causes of overheating are dust and dirt. Clogged vents and CPU cooling fans can keep heat-dissipating air from moving through the case, and even a thin coating of dust or dirt can raise the temperature of your machine's components.

2.Downloading the latest drivers for your hardware.

Update your drivers, slight chances of malfunctioning but you wouldn't wanna be outdated would you?

3.Latest software updates.

Update your software when there are updates available, i know you are reluctant to update everytime the notifications pops up but really sometimes you just have to and hope that its worth it.

4.Latest anti-virus protection updates.

Now this is important, NEVER EVER (Like Taylor Swift's never ever going back together) stop anti-virus updates or you will regret if your PC is being taken over by viruses and dies.

5.Running disk software utilities.

Clean up your hard drive once in a week, Defrag your hard drive once in a month and finally use Disk Wiper to extremely clean up your hard drive. It will improve your PC performance. Just do it if you have never ever done it even once with your PC.

I know running disk software utilities might be troublesome or you might think that its a waste of time, i used to think the same way until my last bestfriend passed away that is my Dell XPS. Since then i started to take a better care of my current laptop.

6. Delete unused programs or other files.

Now this is important, DELETE programs that you are not using. You might be thinking 'Oh this might come in handy someday' NO you are wrong instead it will destroy your PC one day. Stop compiling programs into your PC. Throw away software that are useless and not being used at all. Give your PC some space.

7.Give your PC a rest.

Your PC is your bestfriend, give him or her or whatever you wanna call your PC a rest once in a while. After using your PC with heavy works let your PC rest. Turn it off and go outside (get a life already)
